Busy Busy!

I'm almost seven and a half months old now, and am a very busy baby. Grandma Ottele took care of me today and was impressed that I can go from my hands and knees to sitting and back pretty easily now. I have two little teeth that popped out of my lower gums a couple of weeks ago and I like testing them out on everything that I can fit into my mouth, including people. Mom told me that she's going to lower the floor of my crib now because she caught me trying to escape from it this morning. Our living room has been made into a gigantic playpen with lots of toys to keep me entertained. I love balls and my favorite toy is a plastic box that I can bang on like a drum. Last weekend we went to the Puyallup Fair - with about 120,000 other people! It was very crowded, but I liked seeing the llamas with my Dad while Mom learned about spinning wool. Dad took us to see the photo of Great Grandpa Webber in the Fair Museum. I can't wait to go again next year when I can try a scone!

The Duck Whisperer

Last week Mom and I went to Flowing Lake, a nice park that is a few minutes away from our house. I wasn't planning to go into the water since I've never been in a lake (or even a swimming pool!) before, so I didn't have my bathing suit on. I sat on the sand and smooshed my hands around, and when a boat went by and made some waves, the water sloshed up the beach and got my pants soggy. I loved the water and the sand, but my favorite part was the flock of ducks that swam over to me!! Mom and I fed them blackberries that we picked from the nearby bushes. I had so much fun at the lake that Mom took me back yesterday and we went swimming (in our bathing suits this time!). The water was a little chilly at first, but it was still fun to float and splash with the ducks.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

My Dad turned 31 on Wednesday, so Mom, Chino and I threw him a party. We had streamers, a balloon, a funfetti cake and silly hats. I gave him a book called "Eight Silly Monkeys" because monkeys are my favorite animals and I like it when my Dad sings "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" to me. I'm seven months old now! I work hard at crawling and crab-walking, though so far I can only seem to go backwards. I practice rocking on my hands and knees in my crib when I wake up in the morning - Mom likes to watch me on her little video monitor. I just tried bananas a few days ago, and now they're my favorite food!

Party at the Hood

I went to Great Grandma's house at Hood Canal last weekend to play with my cousins, Riley and Beckham. I stole some of Beckham's toys, but otherwise I was a pretty good baby. I got a little sad since my bum is sore - I've been on antibiotics for a staph infection on my leg and they made me get a diaper rash. I've got two little bottom teeth poking through my gums too, but they don't seem to bother me too much. We had fun taking a long walk through the state park - I rode on Dad in the backpack and loved to look at all of the big trees.
