Back to the Blog!
Mom was just looking back through my blog entries and thinking what a good record it was of my babyhood...since she's not very good at keeping up with real scrapbooks, we're going to try to post here more often now! Then hopefully someday she'll get around to putting all of this into a photobook for me...
So anyway, since my last entry, we've added a little brother to the Ranch! He'll be six weeks old already this weekend. I'm starting to get used to him being around the house - at first I was a little too crazy and mom and dad had to keep telling me to slow down around him and to stop jumping on the couch. I didn't like to hear him crying - that made me hold my ears and stomp my feet. Now I like to kiss him and hug him, though mom still says that I could be a little more gentle about it!
Finn is just starting to smile a little, mostly when he's laying on his back looking up at us. He wasn't quite as big as me when he was born, but he's catching up - at his one month check-up he was in the 91st percentile for weight (11lb 9.5oz) and 97th for height. His face has some of the baby acne bumps on it, but we still think he's pretty cute. People like to comment on how strong he is since he can lift his head up by himself. I tell him what things are called and am excited to teach him "silages" (sign language) when he gets a little older.
I've been keeping busy with preschool on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Mom stays with me on some days since it's a co-op program. School is almost over, but we'll be back next year. I like Teacher Joan! Mom is on the board so she'll still have to go to meetings during the summer. I also do dance class on Tuesdays - I'm in the hip-hop 3-4yr old class and we're learning our routine for our summer recital. Now that we have a new baby around, Mom says that I seem really grown-up to her. I like to ask how to spell things so that I can practice writing my letters, and I still spend lots of hours playing with my imaginary friends. My favorite place to play, though, is in the barn with my chickens, ducks and cats!
